The SPPCC is a consortium funded by the Federal Highway Administration. It formed in October 2023 to support broadly the efforts of the FHWA sustainable pavement program:
- Advancing sustainability and resilience in pavements.
- Focus on implementation rather than research
- Increasing the “pace of change” by promoting rapid adoption of new and innovative materials, design and construction procedures, specifications, practices, and methods
The consortium
SPPCC is led by the University of California Pavement Research Center at UC Davis, with partners at Applied Pavement Technology, Inc. (APTech), North Carolina State University, UC Berkeley, Nichols Consulting Engineers (NCE), TheRightEnvironment (TRE), WAP Sustainability (WAP), and Senseney Engineering.
