AAITM/LCTM: Goals, Co-benefits, and Implementation Pathways

Transportation agencies may have their own goals for establishing or expanding their own Advanced American Innovative Transportation Materials (AAITM, formerly LCTM) programs. For some transportation agencies, those goals are directly aligned with the AAITM Program goals, while for others the goals are focused on co-benefits of using AAITM and from participating in the FHWA Program.

  • conserving finite resources
  • introducing material performance testing, benchmarking, and specifications
